      Fun in Outlands
      Tuesday, January 29, 2008
I haven't posted anything of relevance lately so I thought I'd do a quick update.

I spent a lot of time with Granuaile over the weekend. She is now level 38. Her Blacksmithing has risen to 225 and her mining to 191. Since joining Ladies of Legend 10 days ago Granuaile has leveled 7 times. Quite a busy time, eh? I managed to do all the quests in Southshore and most in Arathi. Granuaile is a toughie for sure. I got the quest from the Magistrate in Southshore to go to the Ruins of Alterac and kill Warmongers. I remembered Pallanen having a hard time of it there (but of course, they were elites back then). But I went ahead and tried it anyway.

Granuaile was 36 when she went there. The ads were 40-41. She killed her quota without too much trouble at all. She even helped a level 41 Warrior finish her quest. That Warrior was impressed with Grainne. Funny thing about her though was that she didn't know about the quest line for the Whirlwind Sword. I think she planned on going for it after seeing Granuailes :)

Last night I took her to the Badlands hoping it wouldn't bee too hard for her. I was wrong. There are just too many monsters there. The Warrior just couldn't get a break. She got into so many 2-3 on one fights it was exasperating. There were a few trips to the graveyard but she did manage to do several quests anyway. Killing the Rock Elementals was hard on Granuaile. They were all 40-42. I inadvertantly ran into a few 44's but thankfully a Night Elf Hunter saved me. lol

The best accomplishment Granuaile made in the Badlands was to find the dead Dwarf Agmond and avenge him. She got to his body and accepted the quest to kill Murdaloc the Trogg leader. It was very hard. He always had a Shaman with him and he was level 42. Granuaile killed the whole camp but could not get Murdaloc alone. The darn caster kept hurting her way too much. So I brought Pallanen over. :P

Pally killed the caster and left Granuaile alone with the creepy Trogg leader. She handily killed him and completed the quest. It's nice to have big sisters looking out for you. :)

Now Granuaile's bar is purple again so she will have to rest for a while. *sigh

Sairalinde is now in Outlands. She is 58, just 2 bars from 59. I spent Sunday cleaning up her quest log so I could take her to Outlands with a clean slate. Along the way she leveled to 57 and then in Hellfire she quickly leveled again. Saira's quest log had only 4 quests left in it before going to Honor Hold. All 4 are in the Sunken Temple. I really don't like that place but one is a Hunter quest I really want to do so I didn't dump any of them. My friend Lisa will help me get those done.

Lisa and I did some questing in Hellfire together. Her Priest is 59. A Hunter and a Priest together is not too bad a combination. We did well but we did take a wrong turn at the Armory where all the Ghosts are and found ourselves in a number of bad scrapes. Her girl died once but thanks to my Cat we managed to do a lot of damage there. At one point we had 6 ads on us but still managed to come out of it. My Pet has the maximum Stamina and Armor and it pays off. :)

I noticed something about the Outlands that I had forgotten. The quest rewards are so much better there. I turned in 2 quests and the green items they offered as rewards were better than the blues Saira has. In a way that is a bummer since Saira (and Pally) have spent time and gold getting her the best stuff. But in another way it is sweet since Saira will now be even better equipped. No complaints. Just observations.

I have been contacted twice in the last week by Pallanen's Guildies concerning Pally getting set up for Kara. The Guild is raiding Kara now and it sounds like it has gone well. But they want Pallanen to go along as second tank I guess. Maybe third? I don't know how all that works but I really have been lax getting her ready for raids. I need to make time for that soon.

So thats where my girls are now. The other girls don't get much play time right now. Other than to enchant/disenchant, prospect or to transmute things. But their time is coming. Once Sairalinde is 70 I will be leveling Granuaile and either Jaelle or Merenwen. Not really sure who will be the one first but the time is coming. Poor Merenwen is probably hoping I will let her alone for a little while longer. I have a really hard time trying to play a Caster. I'm so used to melee fighting I get Merenwen killed a lot. Maybe I'll let her rest a few more months. She will probably appreciate it. :P

Its always fun when you get our characters to outlands. I am to the point where I put no effort into gear before going there. Spending hours getting mats for a sword that you will have for a few levels is time better spent leveling through those levels. I been just doing Arena and Raiding lately. Lots of talk in one of my guilds of doing Zul'Aman this week instead of Kara. Thats the 10 man after kara.

As to your off tanking in Kara here is some tips so you don't look like a noob. Most trash pulls will need two tanks. Most groups will kill the mob you are tanking first then move the to the mob the main tanks target so you need to generate rage faster. At times you will flip flop tanking duties as some mobs leave de buffs on tanks. Also if a boss doesn't need a second tank. Maiden, Shade of Aran and such you should bring your DPS gear handy to switch.

Did you get your leather up on your Hunter? All the mats in outlands don't help you unless you above 300.

      About Me

      Name: Jen
      Home: Pennsylvania, United States
About Me: I started playing WoW after my best friend bugged me to play. I soon learned that I really liked it. Now 2 years later I still play and have 20 characters. LOL I am no gaming expert. I am no WoW expert. A lot of the terms and "how to do's" elude me still. But I love to play. All you will find here are the adventures of Pallanen and her sisters. I love them all and they really kick butt. So stay tuned and maybe we can learn stuff from each other that we never knew. xoxo
