      Ki'Leana Is 69
      Tuesday, October 28, 2008
Ki'Leana is now 69. She leveled last night in Blade's Edge Mountains killing Ogres. Doing the quests in that area are fun. I have only been there once, with Pallanen, and I have forgotten a lot of the area. It is slowly coming back to me though. But doing quests from the Horde side is different anyway.

Over the past 2 week2 I have finished Zangarmarsh, Terokkar Forest and Nagrand. I was soooo happy to be done with Hellfire and Zang that I just couldn't stop playing Ki'Leana long enough to let Sairalinde get some play time. My favorite place in the whole game is Nagrand. I did all the quests there over the weekend. I was sad to move on.

While in Nagrand I spent quite a lot of time fighting for Halaa. Either defending it or trying to take it back. On Aerie Peak the Alliance is determined to keep Halaa. The Horde doesn't seem to own it long. On Kul Tiras it's the opposite. The Horde always seem to have Halaa. But being in a raid group at Halaa is fun. It was Ki'Leana's first PVP experience.

Her first encounter was with a Human Rogue. Ki was 68 and the Rogue was 70. I was standing near the flag defending when the Rogue hit me from behind. It took Ki'Leana's shield away and she was stunned. But Ki's Fade gets her out of stuns and traps so I turned and hit the Rogue with the instant DOTs and then the Mind Flay which slowed her down. In no time the Rogue was dead and Ki'Leana had 50% health still. Nice. :) Then the Achievement pop up showed up and told me I had 1 of 10 kills. Funny thing was, I had forgotten about that quest/achievemnet thingy.

Very shortly after that Ki was helping chase down a Hunter near the bridge when that same Rogue hit her from behind again. This time the damage was worse and Ki didn't recover. The Rogue made short work of her that time. Then I got a nice laugh from it. It made me wonder how many other players have had their first PVP kill also be the same player who gave them their first PVP death? LOL

I have spent a lot of time in Halaa trying to get PVP experience. It's been fun. Then when all the quests were done in Nagrand I headed to the mountains. I have been killing Ogres all over that place. One impression I have is that things seem a lot easier since Pally was questing there. They really are nerfing the areas a lot.

Last night I spent a lot of time helping Lisa level her Priest. Otherwise I would be half way to 70. I had hoped to be 70 by Wednesday evening. That won't happen now. It will most likely be Thursday evening. Then I'll do dailies and run Kara with the Guild until the expansion. I am not going to finish Outland befe the expansion. Once it comes I will. I think doing quests in Outland will be less crowded than the new area and leveling Ki'Leana to 80 will be faster.

I'll save the initial exploration of Northrend to Pallanen. Thats her forte. :)

This is a new pic of Ki'Leana in Nagrand. She liked it there and was sad to leave.

What Was I Waiting For Anyway?
      Wednesday, October 22, 2008
I have spent a lot of time leveling Ki'Leana while she was specced for Healing. By that I mean a lot of grueling, grinding and frustrating time. :P I had split talent points between Holy and Discipline, with an emphasis on Healing. It was taking forever to level. My friends kept telling me to spec Ki as Shadow for leveling but I resisted. I like Healing in groups. It's fun to me. But since the patch reset all the talents I decided to try out Shadow spec since it was a freebie respec. Now I am sorry I waited.

Shadow spec for leveling is awesome! Ki'Leana can now wipe up 3-4 monsters at a time with ease. She has no problem with mobs 2-3 levels higher than herself (solo or even 2 at a time). Plus she looks darn cool in Shadow Form. lol

What was I waiting for? :P

I respecced her on Friday evening and since then leveled 4 times to 66. If I had stayed with the Healing spec she would barely be 63 now. She has all these very cool talents that keep doing damage while she fights mobs. Ki stands toe to toe with them and keeps casting and they wither away to nothing in a very fast time. I don't even remember the last time I used her Wand for fighting. Usually I don't need the Shield anymore either.

My routine is to use most of the instant DOTs first. I do Vampiric Touch and Vampiric embrace and Devouring Plague first. Then Mind Blast which gives Ki'Leana health back, then Shadow Word Pain and Mind Flay. I do Mind Flay while the cooldown for Mind Blast is ticking down. Then I hit with Mind Blast again and the mob is dead. A lot of the time I don't even need to hit with Mind Blast twice. They die before I need to.

I have used Shadow Word Death at times (for fun) but usually I don't even have time to click before mobs die. Nice. :)

Last night I got training for the Shadow Fiend. I can't wait to use that to see how it works.

I was questing in Terrokar Forest last night and went into the Firewing area feeling a little dread, but it turned out to be just fine. Long ago, when I went there with Pallanen, the casters wreaked havoc on her. But they turned out to be easy kills for Ki'Leana. She is able to Silence them early and they come running to her. Then she kills them fast. Ki'Leana even did the escort quest there solo, no help at all. I was impressed.

So a bit of advice to anyone else hesitant to respec a Priest for a better leveling experience; try it out. Sometimes it will work out well. I think Ki'Leana may make 70 before the expansion comes out after all. She would already be 70 had I made her Shadow a few weeks ago. Duh!

Some New Pics and New Patch Notes
      Sunday, October 19, 2008
The newest patch has been very fun to sort out. There are a lot of things I want to say about it but I don't have the time right now. I will say that I love the new Warrior talents. Pallanen is enjoying her new destructiveness very much. :)

I specced Pally mostly Fury like she was pre-patch even though I felt like going with Arms. But I had to try out the new Titan's Grip that allows her to use her two-handed sword(s) in one hand. The Gladiator Greatsword does a ton of damage and I wanted to dual weild it with her other swords. Once I finished I went immediately to do dailies in Quel'Danas. The results were amazing.

Pallanen wiped up all the mobs in Quel'Danas with even more ease than before. I was concerned that her Rage wouldn't stay high enough with the slower sword but that was not the case. She raged her way through all those Naga and Blood Knights likee they weren't even there. Where she used to take a medium amount of damage killing 5-6 mobs, she now took minimal damage. It sometimes didn't even look like she took any. She killed them that fast. It was great!

So next I had to try the new spec and talent out in PVP. I went to do Alterac Valley and things started out nicely there too. It seemed the Hordies didn't have much of a defense for the Titan's Grip (along with the now 3 different ways that a Warrior can get out of traps and stuns). Then I ran into another Warrior. A Tauran. He respecced using the new talent Bladestorm. I rushed him and within seconds he broke out the Bladestorm and Pallanen was down. I had heard it was great but I had no idea. Until you are on the receiving end you won't believe the damage Bladestorm does.

I made it a point for the next 5 AVs to find Warriors to fight. Every time Bladestorm was used no one nearby had an answer for it. Pally felt it first hand 5 times and it sucked every time. I can't wait to respec and deal out that kind of damage to the Horde soon. ;P My conclusion (so far) is that Titan's Grip is great for questing but there is no substitute for the Bladestorm during PVP.

Another very cool new thing after the patch is that there are new hair styles and earrings/markings. You can change them whenever you want to. I found one that really looks great for my Night Elf girls. I changed Earanel's hair to this:

I think it suits her very well. I tried on a lot of them for my human girls but none was as nice as they already have. Pallanen and Sairalinde are beautiful as they are so I'll be leaving them alone too. Here is a very recent pic of my favorite girl:

If you haven't checked out the new Stormwind Harbor, you should do it. That whole thing took a lot of imagination to make. It is huge! Plus the boat from Darkshore now comes directly to Stormwind. (I sure wish it was like that when my little girls had to make the run from Menethil to Ironforge to get to Stormwind!) I went to Menethil to see where the old Darkshore boat now goes and it is not ready to use yet. After the expansion it will go to the new World. Nice.

Here is a pic of my newest family mamber, Analalai.

She is a Rogue I made to play on Aerie Peak with Lisa's new Hunter. I made her just for occasional fun but there is one goal I have for her. I want the entire Defias Armor set. I have never gotten it for any of my girls and I am determined to get it for Analalai. She has everything now but the chest. I have run Deadmines twice since collecting most of the armor and so far VC has dropped the nice cloak and a Cruel Barb sword. Neither of which I wanted so I will have to try again and again until the chest armor drops.

Here are some cool pics of Ki'Leana with her BFF Protectrice (Lisa's Priest). I thought these were great since they are both posing the same way at the same time.

It's funny to me anyway. lol

Here is Bloodrainne looking very serious on the bench outside the Silvermoon Inn.

(She needs to smile more I think. Sooo serious all the time. :P)

Here is a shot of Jaelle doing something I didn't know was possible. She is sitting while hearthing. I guess she was tired that day. She had been killing a lot of bad things in Stranglethorn. I guess she didn't have the energy to stand up when she hearthed. lol

Well, thats enough playing around for now. I don't have time to proofread this so excuse the typos (if there are any). I'm running late as usual. Until next time then...............

      I Miss Raiding
      Wednesday, October 8, 2008
I miss raiding. I haven't been able to raid with Pallanen since the demise of her old Guild. I didn't get a lot of opportunity even back then but when I did have the chance I took it. Raiding the big areas was fun and exciting. Now I can't.

Let's face it, a DPS Warrior just isn't very popular with PUGs.

I'm thinking that Pally may need to get into a new Guild if for nothing more than the chance to raid again. I liked doing Kara. I really liked killing Gruul and all his friends. Pally rarely was awarded new gear but the fun was still worth it. Tanks get all the good stuff in raids. *sigh

I miss the Guild chatter too when I'm playing Pallanen. Soon Pally will be leveling toward 80 and there will be no chatter. I think that is when I'll really miss the old group.

      Oh well.

Last night I hit another brick wall. I played six of my girls at various times in the evening and nothing was fun. I was bored. So I logged off for the night and watched a few episodes of Dead Like Me on DVD. (It's a great show.) Tonight I'm not sure I'll even log on. If I do it will most likely be with Pallanen to do dailies. Thats always fun. Plus, she is the best when it comes to wiping up multiple mobs at once.

I was talking to a friend at work yesterday and he was telling me how he likes to take his 70 Druid into the Stockades, pull an entire wing of bad guys and kill them all on the same spot. The night before he accidentally pulled half the Instance (???) and they killed him. He was mad about that. lol It makes me want to take Pallanen into the Stocks and see how many she can wipe at once. Using Sweeping Strikes and Whirlwind I think she could wipe the place in a very short time. I think I'll try it after the dailies. :P

OK, a boring post for sure. But I haven't posted in a while so.... The news on Ki'Leana and Sairalinde is the same. Still grinding quests on the way to 70. Yada yada yada. Ki has found Zang to her liking. It is much easier there for a Priest. It won't be long until she moves on to another area. Saira is even closer to moving on. She could have finished Zangarmarsh last night if I had been more focused. But I wasn't so.....

KK, tomorrow is another day, right? Tomorrow for yesterday is actually today so I should say today is another day? That sounds good. :)

      Sairalinde Is 63
      Thursday, October 2, 2008
I spent the last 2 days doing quests with Sairalinde. We have done almost all the quests in Zangarmarsh now. She leveled to 63 last night after turning in quests at Orebor Harborage. It has been a long time since Pallanen did these quests and it has been fun to do them again. Some I remember but most I don't.

One thing that struck me immediately when playing Saira is just how easy it is to quest. Going from a Priest to a Hunter is like going from night to day. Sairalinde is a Beastmaster Hunter. She has had absolutley no trouble doing quest after quest in Zang. The mobs are no challenge for Saira and Elendil. Even the elites have gone down in one shot. Its like taking a break playing her and leveling. It's fun.

The one thing about Zangarmarsh I have noticed is that it is definitely tilted toward Druids and casters. Most rewards are leather and cloth. Sometimes there is a plate item rewarded but they usually have some kind of +spell damage buff. It is not a Hunter gear area. Not much good stuff for a Warrior drops either. But soon I'll be moving on to another area so its no big deal. Right now gear isn't an issue for Saira anyway. She is doing fine.

The only quests that have been annoying were the ones where you need to kill eels in the water for the filets and the one where you kill bugs for their wings. The drop rate is terrible with those. They took a while to complete. Once I completed them and got the quest to kill the swimming dino looking tings in the Coilfang Reservoir I almost skipped it. But the drop rate for those things turned out to be 100%. Easy. So I kept killing and skinning them while my breathing potion was active. It was an easy way to level Saira's skinngin talent. lol

I realized this morning that realistically I can't get both Ki'Leana and Sairalinde to 70 before the expansion. Ki takes a long time to level and her bar keeps turning purple which slows her even more. Sairalinde could make it but I'd have to play her most of the time. So I guess I'll just have to keep alternating between them and be happy with the results.

No that it matters all that much anyway. Once the expansion is out I'll be leveling Pallanen to 80 first so the other girls will have to be patient. :P

      About Me

      Name: Jen
      Home: Pennsylvania, United States
About Me: I started playing WoW after my best friend bugged me to play. I soon learned that I really liked it. Now 2 years later I still play and have 20 characters. LOL I am no gaming expert. I am no WoW expert. A lot of the terms and "how to do's" elude me still. But I love to play. All you will find here are the adventures of Pallanen and her sisters. I love them all and they really kick butt. So stay tuned and maybe we can learn stuff from each other that we never knew. xoxo
