      Ki'Leana Is 75
      Tuesday, December 23, 2008
Ki'Leana is now 75. She leveled in the Borean Tundra Sunday night doing the "Neutralizing The Cauldrons", "A Courageous Strike" and "Words of Power" quests in the Temple City of En'kilah.

It's nice to be able to bunch quests together, isn't it? :)

Anyway, Ki'Leana leveled doing those quests and then I took her to do some others at Beryl Point. Those are the ones the Mages give you on top of the big hill. They are fun. Rescuing the Mage from the cube prison is cool. Torturing the loser that you capture is fun too. I don't have a problem doing that quest. I saw there was a big "too-doo" (sp???) on WoW Insider recently about the torture quests. Personally, I think the quest was just fine. All is fair in love and war, right? Well, fighting off the Lich King and all those weird Cultists is war so it was fair to torture that Mage guy. Funny how he caved so fast. lol

So I completed all those Mage quests for the 3rd time (First Pallanen, then Sairalinde and now Ki'Leana). Then Ki got he quest to go to Coldara. When it came time to go to Coldarra, I stopped for the night. I didn't feel up to it that night. So I hopped on to Bloodrainne. I wanted to level her to 21 so she could use all the great gear she got in Shadowfang Keep. My bff Lisa escoreted Bloodrainne thru SFK Saturday afternoon. Rainne got the Robes of Arugul, the nice shoulders, back piece and the staff. She needed to get to 21 to use the staff and shoulders. So I took her back to the Ghostlands and did some of the quests in that Troll area (I forget the name right now). She quickly became 21 and I went back to Silvermoon to work on her Tailoring.

Last night Ki'Leana did all the Coldara quests. Those are fun to do. Now I have to find a group to get through the Nexus. All 3 of my big girls actually have to get through that instance. Groups like that are still not my favorite thing but..... y'know?

So from this point I don't know which girl I'll be playing. I get tired of the same one after a while. I think probably Pallanen will be my choice again but who knows. Ki'Leanas Guildies are bugging me to get her to 80. They want to get raiding more regularly and having Ki as the 4th Healer would make sure they would normally have 3-4 Healers available. I'm OK with that but getting those last 5 levels is going to take me a while.

Maybe I'll take Sairalinde out for a while tonight. No one knows her all that well. It's like being anonymous for a bit. *sigh I think I won't know for sure until I log on tonight. lol

      Foot In Mouth Disease
      Wednesday, December 17, 2008
I am the very best in the game of World of Warcraft at one thing. I can say the worst things on the wrong chat any given moment of any day. Seriously, it is something I found early on that I had a knack for. I have been perfecting it for over 2 years now. I have foot-in-mouth disease in real life and it has manifested itself in chats when I play. lol

Last night I was questing with Ki'Leana. She was running with Thrall and Sylvannas, taking back Undercity from the traitors. During this time, a Guild Officers meeting was also going on. I was trying to pay attention to both things but was only getting bits and pieces of the officers chat. (I wasn't on Vent at the time.)

Now, if anyone else has done the quest to retake Undercity, you know how busy it is there. There is never ending action and things coming at you non stop. There is a lot of dialog during that too. So I was distracted a bit. (Nice formula for me to screw up, for sure.)

The Guildies were chatting about the number of inactive toons and were trying to decide whether or not to boot anyone. They were discussing whether they should set a time, like maybe a month of inactivity, for booting someone. Somewhere in there active members alts were mentioned because some of those can be inactive for long periods. So for clarification I asked if we were discussing booting our members alts exclusively or booting anyone who was just not a regular player.

Of course I asked my question on regular Guild chat, not the Officers chat. :P

Naturally that set off not just the Officers but the members who were online at the time. There were about 10 responses from the Guildies asking what was happening. There were even more whispers to me about "using the Officers chat!!!" yada, yada, yada....

Once I realized what I had done, I just sat back and laughed for 10 minutes. Why would I laugh so much you ask? Because that was probably the 1000th time I had done something like that in game. I am the worst for getting the chats mixed up. The absolute worst. LOL

It has happened to me in Raids, in simple groupings, while running solo, while whispering to my BFF. It doesn't matter the circumstance, I will get the darn chats mixed up somehow and type something dumb into the wrong one.

The worst time I can remember was a time when my honey and I were flirting in game. We were whispering to each other and talking about what we should be doing with each other rather than playing WoW that night. It was getting pretty hot. At one point we were discussing erotic stuff and then it turned to getting help with a quest since we were both close to leveling. (Yes, a very odd mix to be sure. But that is WoW sometimes.) So I typed back and said, "I'd rather f*&$ you than help you level anytime."

But I typed that in the Guild chat. Oops!

That sent off a storm of responses from Guildies. At first I couldn't understand why the response was so pronounced. Yes, I had done something really stupid (and very funny when you think about it). But the responses from one Guildie were pretty harsh. So I scrolled back through the chats only to find that he and another low level Guildie had been asking for help with some tough quests. Put that together with what I typed into Guild chat. Uh huh. :( The worst possible time for me to say that, wasn't it?

So in the game of WoW, there is no one else better than I am at foot-in-mouth disease. Just like in real life sometimes, I just don't pay good enough attention to what is going on around me. Last night was not a good thing. It was funny to me since I don't take the game for more than just a game, but still, it shouldn't have happened.

Unfortunately I am sure it won't be the last incident for me. Stay tuned...... LOL

      Minor Changes To My Template
      Wednesday, December 10, 2008
For anyone stopping by on a regular basis, (*ahem, all 1-2 of you) you will see some more minor changes to the template. I have bummed some ideas from Curtis' Blog and added some character stuff to my girls' description boxes. The coolest thing added is the link to the Armory page so that anyone who cares to can look over their gear. Not that any of them are super geared-up, except Pallanen, but it is fun to compare notes between your character and other peoples characters.

Thanks for the hints there Curtis. Blogs are cool that way. They are always evolving. Kind of like a World of Warcraft character does. :)

Note: As of this post I realize I haven't completed the updates for all the girls. I will as time permits. Don't give me grief, k? lol

      Sairalinde Is 70 - Finally!
      Tuesday, December 9, 2008
Sairalinde made it to level 70 in Northrend last night. Finally my Hunter is 70. I should have had her to level 70 in the Spring but I never did. Now we are getting somewhere. lol

She leveled in Coldarra doing some questing that was a bit too high level for her. But having a good pet makes it easy for a Hunter to pull that off. The mobs were all 71-72 when she was 69. The quests were all orange. But Sairalinde is on a roll in Northrend since arriving Sunday evening and I wanted to stay on course.

The evening started with Sairalinde going to do the "Diplomatic Mission" string. I knew about those quests thanks to Pallanen already completing the Borean Tundra. Then Sairalinde went and did the quests that Veehja the Priestess gives. She is one of those Spikelash things with a nasty attitude, even though you are doing things for her. I finished all her quests and headed to one I had been given somewhere ??? to go and visit the funny walrus looking guy on the beach. He is the one who's village is being overrun by the giants guys in boats. Saira did all his quests and then they sent her to Dragonblight to talk to someone.

I didn't quest in Dragonblight. Thats a bit too hard for her right now. So I headed back to where the Mages are on top of the mountain and did all those quests there. Those are kinda fun anyway. At the end of those they send you to Coldarra. There Sairalinde did some harder quests and managed to get to 70.

I am trying to do the quests in a better order than I did them with Pallanen. Pally ended up running all over the Borean Tundra while she/I was learning the landscape. With Sairalinde, I already know where quests are and can do them in order depending on locations. It's not always the best idea since places like Coldarra are a bit higher level. But I think it will be easier to complete everything.

At any rate, Sairalinde is 70 finally. Next time I play her I will be headed to the Fizzcrank Airstrip I believe. There are some quests in Coldrock Quarry near the Mage guys but I remember the respawn rate being so crazy there that I may wait until Sairalinde levels again before doing those.

Today I feel like playing Pallanen again so I'm not sure who will be questing tonight. It always depends on my mood. Pally has been waiting patiently at Wyrmrest Temple for a few days. Maybe she needs to get out and play. Decisions, decisions.... :P

      Working It With Sairalinde
      Monday, December 8, 2008
Ki'Leana is finally leveling her Enchanting. I bit the bullet and took the time to get her skill up some more. It was hard for two reasons. One was that I like questing in Northrend. I didn't want to stop questing. lol Two was that it cost me a lot of gold to level Enchanting.

      A lot!

I needed to get Ki's skill to 325 in order to disenchant the drops and quest rewards she was getting in Northrend. She had 3.5 full bags of stuff clogging up her bank that was BOP. So I had to get her from level 275 to 325 in order to DE that stuff. Unfortunately the mats required for that nasty stretch are scarce. Figures. The main mat needed is Greater Eternal Essence and it almost exclusively comes from disenchanting weapons level 51-54. The rarity of it and the rarity of those weapons on the AH made the price of buying it just silly. No less than 15 gold each was the best I could find.

Ki'Leana did have some stashed, naturally. But not near enough to get the levels she needed. All in all, I spent about 1200 gold getting to 325 Enchanting. I read on Thottbot that you eventually recoup most of your money with high level enchants but I'm feelin a bit doubtful. Now Ki is broke again. Almost no gold at all. :( I have to make some nice profits now if I am going to get her the flying mount and training in Northrend available at level 77. I'm feeling like that won't happen now until she is 80.

All that kind of bummed me a little so I logged off Ki'Leana for a while.

I've spent the majority of my free time since with Sairalinde. I had been told that quests are available in Northrend after level 68. Saira was just barely over the 67 mark. So I started the quests in Nagrand hoping to get her to 68 asap. Like a dummy I didn't think clearly right away and I did the first 3 Nesingwary quests before training Sairalinde for higher Skinning. (Those quests are all about killing animals and are great for leveling Skinning.) Once I realized how much leveling I was missing I left Nagrand for a bit and went to The Grand Master Skinning Trainer at Valgarde in Northrend. Then I came back and finished up all the hunting quests, leveling Saira's Skinning by 40 levels at the same time. That didn't get her level to 68 though so I did a bunch of other quests, about 10-12 and when I turned them in she was almost 68.

Then someone started asking me for help with The Ring of Blood. I knew it was a good thing to do for rep. and gold so I agreed to do it. The group consisted of 2 65 Death Knights, a 67 Shaman, a 68 Priest and Sairalinde. We started the trials and easily got through the first couple. Brokentoe, Rokdar, Skra'gath and The Blue Brothers were all easy to beat. Then came the Warmaul Champion. We did manage to kill him but for some reason Sairalinde didn't get the credit for it. We decided to do the last challenge, the Mogor guy, and then come back to do the Champion for Sairalinde. This is where it all unraveled a bit.

For some reason one of the Death Knights went AFK at the start of the fight. That was not good. The 4 of us remaining killed Mogor the first time, but as everyone knows, when he rezzes himself, he is tougher to kill. He rezzed and came back and somehow wiped us up. We waited for the afk DK to come back but he/she never did. We tried to kill Mogor 3 more times but we couldn't do it with the 4 of us. Then the Priest left us. I thought we were done but that wasn't it yet. :)

A group of Hordies came by to do the same trials. They only had 4 in their group. So the guy who set up our group somehow talked with them and they agreed to help us if we helped them. Suddenly we had a group of 7. Nice. We took turns alternating between us and them for the next fight in the ring. We managed to kill all the bad guys easily having 7 fighters. During that last stretch Saira leveled to 68. Yay! Then I said my thank yous and goodbyes and headed to Northrend. :)

While traveling I dropped all the quests for Outland I wasn't planning on doing. I kept the elite Nesingwary ones and the Durn one. I like doing those. I though that Sairalinde would get to 70 very fast and then I'd come back to Nagrand to finish up those fun ones. Otherwise, I dumped her entire quest log.

Sairalinde arrived in Northrend at Valiance Keep Sunday evening. For some weird reason I was so excited. I know, it's just a game, but I was happy to have Sairalinde in the new area ready for quests. I took the first quests which is simply one where you are to Meet with General Arlos inside the barracks. When I accepted it and didn't have to wait in the line of new recruits, one of them said to Saira, "What's wrong Hunter? You are too good to wait in line like the rest of us?" (Or something very close to that.) I stopped and answered him that yes, I was too good to wait. Then I laughed and ran into the Keep. More silliness, yes. But those things make me smile. Hee hee. :P

Sairalinde did several quests that evening. She leveled to 69 really fast too. She has the advantage of having Pallanen figure everything out first. I run Pallanen through all the new areas and after that Sairalinde can do the quests in the best order. Thats what happened Sunday evening. Sairalinde did the quests that were local to the Keep right away. Then she did the ones at Farshire. Those are fun. Then she did the quests on the beach with thos eguys who put you in a fog when fighting them. After that it was late and I had to log off.

It was a very productive weekend for both Sairalinde and Ki'Leana. Moreso for Saira. I was a little disappointed in the quest rewards though. The only good reward/drop so far for Saira was a nice bow. It was a big upgrade on the one she had. The armor she has gotten so far isn't worth trading what she is wearing. The armor value is higher but most has a lot of spellpower buffs and intellect. I don't use those usually so I hope soon her armor is upgraded. We'll see. At any rate, Sairalinde will be busy for a few days. Upgrades are on the way. :)

      Overwhelmed, Just A Bit :P
      Wednesday, December 3, 2008
I am feeling just a little overwhelmed these days. Not in a bad way. In a very good way. But still...... lol

I find that no matter which of my girls I play since the Wrath of the Lich King came out, I love it. It makes it hard to stick to playing just one of them. I love playing my Warrior Pallanen. She totally rules the bad guys in Northrend (so far). It's a lot of fun to just charge in on a group of them and chop them to bits. :P I also love playing Ki'Leana, my Priest. She has a more refined way of relieving Azeroth of bad guys. The end result is the same though. Then there are the Death Knights. Those are the biggest distractions. They are so much fun to play that it's hard to let them rest. On top of all those girls, I found out that Sairalinde could go to Northrend at 68 and quest. She is close to 68 and the gear drops in Northrend are so much better than Outland. Now I feel I want to get her there.

So many choices. *happy sigh :)

My plan for the weekend was to get Ki'Leana to level 73. That almost happened. But after a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner Thursday, I wasn't feeling too questy (like my new word? lol) so I logged onto my Human DK Miriel. I thought maybe I would get her skills high enough to make questing in Outland nicer.

What prompted that thought was that I had started questing in Outland with my Blood Elf DK Earlinde and she keeps seeing all those nice mining nodes but can't do anything about them. I thought maybe it would be better to get Miriel's Mining up to par before questing. So given that I wasn't feeling questy (:P) I started Miriel's Mining in Darkshore Thanksgiving evening.

It took no time at all to get her mining from 1 to 300. I only played for about 2 hours Thanksgiving evening and about 2 hours the next day. The thing is, I have several Miners on Kul Tiras. I also have a Guild Bank with mining mats in it. (Of course, I should now say that I had mining mats in my bank. lol) Miriel had a distinct advantage leveling her mining. It was easy getting her to 300 and ready for Outland.

Leveling Earlinde's skills won't be as easy.

OK, I'm getting off on a long, rambling post again. The point I originally started to make was that once I start playing one of the girls, it's so much fun I don't want to stop with them. This past weekend I got Pallanen to 73, Ki'Leana to 72 and Mirel's Mining and Engineering high.

Playing Ki'Leana got very fun this past few days. I finished up all the quests in the Howling Fjord and moved on to Dragonblight. The quests in Dragonblight are more intersting, I think. So playing Ki'Leana got to be my focus over Saturday and Sunday. I especially loved going into the Scarlet Onslaught area and wrecking all their plans.

The two quests that stick out in my mind there were "A Fall From Grace" and "Do Unto Others", which are both in the same quest line. "A Fall From Grace" kind of freaked me out a bit (Spoiler coming. Beware if you haven't done the quest yet.) because when you get to the High Abbot and he agrees to talk in private, he tells you he saw through your disguise right away. He then says stuff about how he has seen what you've been doing to his compatriots and jumps off the cliff. He commits suicide so you don't get to eliminate him yourself. That was weird to me.

Doing "Do Unto Others" was weird too. You need a group to kill the High General. She is a 72 Elite and there is an 80 Elite standing next to her. I thought we would have to fight both but that doesn't happen. The odd part was how the Grand Admiral (the 80 elite guy) just let us kill his General and then he walked out, saying how she had outlived her usefulness or something. I think we'll be seeing that Admiral later in the game. But those Crusaders ought to learn how to take better care of each other. Everyone in the game is out to get them. They can't afford to lose their elites like that. LOL

I did all those quests Monday (since I was off work). Last night I moved on to Western Dragonblight. I did a lot of quests there. Some on the border of the Borean Tundra. I managed to find someone who was doing all the "Wanted...." quests and we did them together. Then we did the big elite "Kill Sarathstra" quest near the Wyrmrest Temple. That wasn't too hard (because it was a 5-man one). The worst of them was the "Wanted: Magister Keldonus" one. That guy was a pain for us. Dreadtalon wasn't bad and Gigantaur was a little harder. Gigantaur hits very hard and the Warlock I was with got one-shotted our first try. Hee hee. We killed him on the second try though.

Basically this past week has been a blast! I guess that's what this post is about. I have many more details of the quests in my head. If anyone stops by and wants to compare notes, just comment. This is the lamest blog for comments I have ever been a part of. But like the game of WoW, this blog is still fun to write on, even if I am going solo. :)

      About Me

      Name: Jen
      Home: Pennsylvania, United States
About Me: I started playing WoW after my best friend bugged me to play. I soon learned that I really liked it. Now 2 years later I still play and have 20 characters. LOL I am no gaming expert. I am no WoW expert. A lot of the terms and "how to do's" elude me still. But I love to play. All you will find here are the adventures of Pallanen and her sisters. I love them all and they really kick butt. So stay tuned and maybe we can learn stuff from each other that we never knew. xoxo
